Merge PR #42 (fix/coverage-gate-selftest-timeout): coverage-gate self-test carries its own timeout
Merge commit for the same reason as #40: cut from c1a28de in parallel with the other three, so no fast-forward exists after #36; the PR cites 973d02f by name and the ruleset refuses a rebased force-push. One test file, disjoint from everything else landing today.
