[IMPROVEMENT] What kind of motivation makes UIs get uglier and uglier?

It is ugly, also has too little animations. Well, that's definitely true for now.
I can tell that new Avalonia UI is still under construction, so that I do really believe they should keep the old UI as default until new UI truly outstanding than previous one.

I dislike the following:

1. It is a phone-centered interface, not desktop one.
2. Not supporting the system theme/style (in the sense of uxtheme, not dark/light mode).
3. Not using the system font settings (mainly, regarding size). Some fonts are too small while others are too big, the difference in sizes is huge.
4. Gigantism. It barely fits on a laptop screen. Possibly, because of centering on phones and touch input. Ignoring the system font settings.
5. Two bugs with window frames that I encountered, for one of which there is a workaround, but still...

I have noticed that you have updated the new icon of UniGetUI, which is great, it's modern, simple also aligned with Microsoft's fluent icon design. This should be the standard that all future updates would follow.

As for the UI, here's my option:

1. The search bar should have more heights instead of narrow one, which is easier for mouse to click and have a more balance look of components.
   Also, when the search bar is activated, it should have the whole search bar (including the search button) highlighted (colored border), and will not cause a rounded corner on the left side and vertical corner on the other side.
   And the search bar also should have larger round corner radius, and this radius should equal to other rounded corner radius in other components.

2. Hamburger menu now have no animation while expand, will always take up space and push elements on its right to further right, that is definitely an downgrade than old UI, which will automatically collapse when window size is small, or make the menu float so it won't take up the display space.
   Besides, the Hamburger Menu icon, as well as filter icon and some of other icons, looks kinda weird and not belong to this App compare to other icons.

3. Filter, if you click that button, you will notice that the filter will push other buttons on the right of filter button, to further right, that's so strange isn't it? And again it should have animation when the filter is out.

4. When successfully updated/installed packages, there should not have a notification bar on the top since I can already see the status inside the area below.

Well, I can list a lot more suggestions but the thing is - I am aware that the new Avalonia UI is still under construction, so take your time to improve, that's totally fine, but please do not use it as the default UI, at least not for now when it is still immature, let people judge it too soon.

I am not a designer nor a professional programmer, so what I just said is just for reference only.

Without mentioning the new layout, just talking about the interface colors and fonts, isn't it ugly at first glance? I didn't pay special attention to whether the system default font is no longer used, but just that default bold font makes it very uncomfortable to look at. So I want to ask, what exactly is the reason for changing it to this in version?

In the old version the font subpixel smoothing was not even supported and it was even more directly phone-oriented. So, the Avalonia frontend is a bit better, if not were that buggy.

I'm not very familiar with Avalonia, just feel that the bold text in the sidebar not so smooth.

It would be better if it just used the system settings regarding fonts. Old toolkits, like Qt and GTK respect your system settings well. Avalonia does not...

The folding scrollbar is another phone-derived "modern" abomination. In some programs it literally drives me nuts, because you have to engage in literal pixel-hunting to make it show in full witdth.

What's the point of the folding scrollbar? To save the screen space? But you waste it on empy areas anyway. Plus, saving horizontal space is more important on phones, on computers you usually feel shortage of vertical space.

The new progress bar looks more intuitive, but the top prompts are really not very useful. I never check what causes software updates that fail, because even if I do, it's useless.
If the update fails, I will only ignore the current version and wait for the next version to update smoothly.
