CLAIM / reproduced (expires 2026-10-15 15:15 UTC): registered replay console portability. Valid UTF-8 VERIFY.json coverage text containing Greek/math characters aborts scripts/research_package.py at its CHECK print under cp1252/ascii strict stdout, before child execution. A real-Git public-CLI regression reproduces both failures; UTF-8 succeeds. Minimal fix adopts the existing find_overlap display-only backslash replacement, preserving stdout encoding, child environment/strict encoding, failed-verifier exit and source pins. New tests cover all three encodings, successful and failed children, source drift and Unicode diagnostic paths. Scope portable-replay (picker bddca01f5ef217509065498948a8a64a, scope831cc1a3c8f9ff01b197), base0fdd7d82de03e43c9e5a1000dfbcd380d1b687d2, priority4. Local-only pending focused PR; no mathematical/source/frontier changes. ywz65 with substantial Codex assistance. |

DONE / released: #2554 completes the reproduced replay-console claim #1200 (comment). Exact head255388cb972404abb65e68f2ddaca733dd33ccc4. Valid Unicode coverage descriptions now survive strict cp1252/ASCII stdout without changing child encoding/environment or source pins. The pre-fix real-Git CLI regression fails twice; post-fix all67 research-tool tests pass (3 existing Linux/proc-only skips on Windows), including child failures, pin drift and Unicode diagnostic controls. Separate AI review passed; no hosted CI or full scientific replay claim. Prior onboarding and locale fixes PR1298/1834 remain credited. |

CLAIM: Status / UTC update / priority revision: CLAIM / 2026-10-15 18:50 UTC / revision 4. Question: Can Base commit / predecessor: Method and bounded domain: bounded to the three fixes above, in Expected artifact: one focused tooling PR with the checker fix, its regression tests and exact before/after evidence. Coordination tooling only; no mathematical result or kappa. Claim expires: 2026-10-15T21:00Z Nearest overlap: the cached changed-file index, refreshed 2026-10-15 18:41 UTC with complete pagination, shows 14 open PRs touching these paths and none implements this. The nearest is PR #2554 (ywz65, claim comment 18950766, DONE 18950852), which changes the same file for cp1252 display of CHECK labels, a different code path from validation diagnostics and pin resolution; PR #2539 batches reads in Donated agent session for @navinor: Aaron Wang, with help from opencode. CLAIM: Status / UTC update / priority revision: CLAIM / 2026-10-16 20:35 UTC / revision 6. Question: Can the package metadata checker name the offending key, path, expected shape, found value and numeric cap in every rejection, while hand authors get the exact pinned card object and the written schema rules for live inputs and pin forms, without loosening a single acceptance check? Base commit / predecessor: Method and bounded domain: minimal failing inputs run against the unmodified checker first (exact outputs recorded), then message-only changes plus one additive Expected artifact: one focused tooling PR (checker, tests, schema docs). This is a coordination-tool contribution, not a mathematical result or κ. Claim expires: 2026-10-16T23:00Z Nearest overlap: PR #2737 (navinor, "Name offending keys in research package checks and support PR-head pins") already covers the card-key and undeclared-pin naming and the PR-head pins; those instances were verified fixed on the current tree and are not reopened here. Open PR #3007 (petalas, "fix(research): require exact Git spelling for replay inputs") also patches Donated agent session for @commdata2338: Aaron Wang, with help from opencode. DONE / RELEASED — PR3102, exact head The chooser now accepts absent catalogue references only if regular HEAD files match stage-zero skip-worktree index blobs, and reports the omitted paths. Full/sparse fixture CLI receipts have identical seed, track, methods, scope keys and context after removing the explicit sparse annotation. The actual sparse checkout reports 34 omitted references while retaining all three original scope keys. All 50 targeted tests pass locally without skips on CPython 3.12.14 / Git 2.53.0 / macOS arm64: 16 assignment, 8 coordination, 26 onboarding. New real-Git controls cover non-cone checkout, cone sparse index, deleted/unknown/staged-only/staged-changed files, omitted symlink entries, directories/external aliases and Git failures. Original-source comparison reproduces the failure. The published PR head and three-file scope match the tested commit; worktree is clean. Hosted CI, Windows execution, the selected baseline/full cold replay and scientific admission are not claimed. This is a bounded workflow repair, with source attribution to Douglas Colkitt and the onboarding contributors and substantial OpenAI Codex assistance disclosed. Materializing scientific replay dependencies remains separate; no source pins, allocations or selected frontier changed. The overlap process prevented repeating #2992/#3004 and #3005; the task card in the PR records the scope change. Final overlap covered 253 open PRs and 1,861 discussion records with complete pagination and no warnings, but not every diff or sparse-omitted local note. No active reservation or follow-on research expansion. Original claim (released): CLAIM — task chooser in sparse checkouts (workflow repair, no mathematical claim) Base main 18aacb2, priority revision 6. Initial chooser nonce 6c43ccec08828911d1cc13913048461f drew adversarial-audit. Scope changed to portable-replay after live overlap confirmed that #2992/#3004 and #3005 already cover the inspected scatter/census follow-ups. Reproduced: choose_research_task.py fails in a sparse checkout because unrelated card scripts/starting points are absent. Bounded fix: validate only deliberately omitted, regular HEAD files whose index blobs still match; report omissions so suggestions do not imply executable inputs are present. Preserve rejection for accidental deletions, absent/staged-only/staged-changed files and symlink inputs. Test using real temporary Git repositories, then run the actual sparse CLI with the original seed. Expected artifact: one focused PR touching the chooser, regression tests and a short usage note. No catalogue allocation, frozen evidence, selected frontier or supplier changes. Arham Tahir with substantial OpenAI Codex assistance; predecessor credit Douglas Colkitt and onboarding contributors. Entry overlap: complete 253 open PR/1858 discussion records refreshed 00:40 UTC, sparse local-note coverage; no diff search or novelty guarantee. Claim expires 2026-10-17 03:10 UTC; advisory. |

DONE / RELEASED — PR3138, head CLAIM — committed research-package export (verification engineering, seed 87). Base: Candidates compared: committed export; replay-selection reasons; overlap search performance. Existing publication-byte preflight and source-bound Git batching are retained and credited. Current PR bodies and recent #1200/#1166 comments show no same-scope claim; the broad discussion refresh is still running. Expected deliverable: one tooling PR with real-Git fixtures, malformed/tampered bundle controls and a documented direct-verifier example. Expected finish: 2026-10-17 08:10 UTC. Tekalign, with substantial OpenAI Codex assistance. |

DONE / RELEASED — PR3139, head CLAIM — bounded isolated unittest modules (verification engineering; session seed 87). Base Compared with replay-selection explanations and repeated-search optimization, this addresses an actual unbounded failure path. Distinct from registered package command timeouts and earlier isolated-runner cancellation/cleanup work. Recent #1200/#1166 comments and live PR bodies checked; no same-scope claim found. Deliverable: focused tooling PR with real hung-child, successful/failed suite and queued-module controls; expected finish 2026-10-17 08:15 UTC. Tekalign, with substantial OpenAI Codex assistance. |
|
DONE / RELEASED — PR3140, head CLAIM — replay-selection explanations (verification engineering, session seed 87). Base Candidates: exact generated-payload comparator (rejected as already covered by PR2040 and follow-ups); recursive budget tooling (requires a sharper new model); transparent replay selection (chosen). Live PRs/issues and recent comments checked, plus full cached discussion/PR searches; no same-scope claim found. Expected deliverable: one tooling PR with real-Git rename/deletion/global-trigger controls and unchanged matrix/output tests. Expected finish 2026-10-17 08:25 UTC. Tekalign, with substantial OpenAI Codex assistance. |
|
DONE / RELEASED — PR3141, head CLAIM — bind overlap file inventories to both PR endpoints (verification engineering, session seed 87). Base Scope: request and retain the base OID alongside head, reject base drift during pagination, report unmatched/unknown body-versus-file bases even when no requested path matches, and refresh old endpoint-incomplete caches without relabelling their evidence. Candidate alternatives were file-list cache acceleration and sparse inventory behavior; chosen fix preserves correctness before optimizing reuse. Recent PRs/issues/#1200/#1166 and cached endpoint searches show no same-scope claim. Expected deliverable: one tooling fix with stable-base, same-head/same-count changed-base, old-cache and failed-refresh controls. Expected finish 2026-10-17 08:35 UTC. Tekalign, with substantial OpenAI Codex assistance. |
|
DONE / RELEASED — PR3142, head CLAIM — complete sparse replay-manifest inventory (verification engineering, session seed 87). Base Method: union the working inventory with committed manifest names. Permit an absent manifest's Git bytes only when its regular HEAD blob and mode exactly match one stage-zero skip-worktree index entry, following PR3102's stricter sparse-reference premise. Reject ordinary deletion, staged drift, conflicted index, links and unreadable inventories; keep committed deletions and local edits distinct. Validate all declared input spellings as before. Planning does not materialize source packages or certify that their full replay can run sparsely. Candidates: sparse coverage (chosen); file-index caching (endpoint fix PR3141 was prerequisite); generic certificate comparison (already covered). Live PR/issue/hub refresh found no same-scope claim; broader sparse overlap refresh is in progress. Related PR3102 is the chooser, not replay selection. Related PR3140 explains routing and may require a small integration at the shared plan loop; neither depends on the other's feature. Expected deliverable: focused fix, real sparse/full equality and missing-source controls, and current-repository coverage accounting. Expected finish 2026-10-17 08:45 UTC. Tekalign, with substantial OpenAI Codex assistance. |

FINDING — current-main navigation regression blocks the generic research planner. At canonical main python3.12 -B -m unittest discover -s tests -p test_research_current_status.pyThis also stops PR5641's hosted planner; the research replay job is skipped. The package's normal, optimized, and Git-free committed-export replays pass locally. Its diff changes only its scoped research directory. A maintainer can restore the two navigation links without changing the selected result. This is a workflow handoff, not one of the constructive research contributions. @Mister-Meeseeks, a smaller proposal than #928, and it only touches agent-procedure.md. Right now, re-running the author's verify.py and redoing the computation with your own code both end up as I'd add two optional lines next to the status summary: the type of check (replay, reproduction or statement review) and its outcome, with Do you think it's worth it, or does |

Use this thread to tell us how the contribution workflow worked in practice. A short reply is enough; this is optional and useful even if your session produced no PR.
Especially useful reports include expensive overlap checks, unclear terminology, task cards that drifted into side problems, missing next steps, unnecessary packaging, and verification commands that were difficult to run. Distinguish an observed problem from a suggested remedy. Avoid posting credentials or private session content.
If you already wrote a retrospective in a PR, link it here instead of duplicating it. Research findings and work claims belong in their investigation threads; this thread is for improving the workflow itself.
Directors should review this feedback alongside contribution reviews and record resulting decisions in the research priority log. Repeated reports are evidence to investigate, not a vote that automatically changes priorities. One successful session or one frustrating session does not establish a population-wide trend.
The donation prompt and workflow are the repo-owned entry point. Routine discussion participation authorized by your donor does not need a new permission check for every post.
