Expanding Instatic with autonomous site workflows
#536
Looking at recent developments like Webflow Source , Ploy and Fimo, there is a strong push toward agent-driven website operations: having agents continuously audit, maintain, and stage content updates in the background.
What makes Instatic stand out is that you already have the core foundation in place without closed SaaS lock-in: clean static baking, a visual canvas, and a native MCP server that lets us use our own models and tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.).
Adding a few primitives for autonomous workflows would make Instatic uniquely powerful in this space:
Inbound triggers (Webhooks): Allow external scripts or tools to signal Instatic to stage new drafts or update records without requiring someone sitting in an interactive editor session.
Scheduled tasks (Cron): A built-in way to run recurring housekeeping—link health checks, stale content audits, or routine page maintenance—on autopilot.
AI-ready discovery (llms.txt & Schema): Auto-generate standard /llms.txt and semantic JSON-LD directly from content collections on bake, making content easily readable and citeable by search models.
Direct edge publishing: Native publish targets (Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, S3/R2) so Instatic can live locally or on a private server while the public site deploys purely as flat files.
These capabilities would turn Instatic into a complete, self-maintaining site engine—entirely open source and powered by our own AI setups.
Curious if any of these features align with the broader roadmap you have in mind.
